On 25 September 2021, IoT Africa was as chosen as the Most Outstanding IoT Service Provider of the Year at the just concluded Africa Digital Awards Hall of Fame (ADA).
IoT (Internet of Things) has become such a force to reckon with, that’s why Africa Digital Awards (ADA) has presented us with honour through recognition that we are doing something right. The event had various dignitaries from all sectors, such as the Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, Executive Governor, Ondo State, Dr Isa Pantami Hon. Minister of Communications & Digital Economy, Prof. Umar Danbatta, EVC/CEO NCC and so much more.
We received the first award for the night, Our CEO, Mr Lare Ayoola, received the award and gave a thank you speech. He thanked the organizers of the award and said, a few years ago we identified the internet of things as being an extremely important technology that needed to be introduced into Nigeria. We took up that task; we established a subsidiary called IoT Africa Networks and we signed an agreement with sigfox, the foremost global IoT provider in the world and the rest is history.
He also added, ‘ without the internet of things (IoT) in the digital economy it would not be where it is supposed to be or meant to be, without IoT the amount of data that we need to collect would not be collected, without IoT data acquisition will be expensive, without IoT smart agriculture, digitalization of oil, smart building, smart logistics would not have been possible.
So the internet of things is extremely important, we have put a lot of effort into it and that is just the beginning and having this award is an extremely important milestone and to encourage us.
There were other award winners for the night including MTN Nigeria and VDT Communications. The convener Mr Tayo gave the vote of thanks and appreciated all those who made the Award a success.
